The step by Yahoo may be seen as a user retention policy by the company once known as the "King of emails"! In the past 5 years Yahoo has witnessed nearly 50% of its email and instant messaging users migrating to Google products like gmail and gtalk.
Yahoo is already finding it very difficult to compete and retain business against google and facebook in one of the fastest changing industries in the world.
