The release of the two Bollywood blockbusters Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi of Shahrukh Khan and Ghajini of Aamir Khan was being awaited with great anticipation.
After the terror attack in Mumbai all the films went down badly by the viewers, but people are hoping that these two movies will bring back the visitors to the theaters. The two films have got Bollywood fans going crazy.
The coin has two sides.
The mirror has two faces.
Every human being has another aspect to his/ her personality, rarely seen.
Ghajini is extremely plausible.
The impact of witnessing a brutal murder coupled with a massive head injury literally brings out the animal in Sanjay Singhania.
When he bashes up an army of goons in the climax scene, I did not feel this is the typical Rajnikant style 'heropanthi' of Hindi films. Sanjay Singhania was an ordinary guy with extraordinary power because he had a 'mission'.
The fact that he could not remember what that mission was made for the twist in a tale which would otherwise have been a 'kameene main tera khoon pi jaoonga' kind of revenge drama from the 1970s or 80s.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi :
Surinder ji on the other hand is leading a 'boring is normal' kind of life. And yet, in a candy floss version of the old Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde routine, he transforms into Raj while claiming to be in office working 'overtime'.
The question that is never convincingly answered in RNBDJ is why Surinder could not be a little more expressive and why Suri's wife could not recognize him. Clearly, Sharukh is now very predictable in these kind of fairytale.
Songs were great, and marketing of the movie was even greater. That is why we see a very "average" movie crossing Rs 100 crore landmark.
The only thing worth appreciating in this movie are the songs and SRKs role us "Suri".
Moral of the Story :
Man with a purpose is a "superman". It displays the power of human mind.
It actually tells you whatever you believe and concieve, you achieve !
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi :
Ask any married man, who is engrossed in his daily chores and he will probably feel the same as Suri. Hats off to SRK for portraying the character of Suri and Raj at the same time.
Amir Khan :
Amir Khan brings in a rare kind of prefessionalism and dedication which is seen only in Hollywood and that really shows in all his movies.
SRK gets into the skin of the character. Whereas SRK can be Kabir Khan(chak de), he can be Suri, he can be the NRI(Swadesh). SRK has this ability to make a character alive.
RNBDJ : 5/10
Amir : 10/10
SRK : 8/10
